Authorities in Jigawa State have taken 20-year-old Saminu Ibrahim into custody following the death of his friend in Ringim Local Government Area. SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest on Monday in Dutse, noting it was part of broader efforts to ensure regional stability.
Police reported that the incident took place at Dabigel Village around 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Early findings indicate that a dispute between the two 20-year-old men turned physical, leading to the suspect allegedly piercing the victim’s chest with a sharpened metal tool called a Danbuda. Although the victim was transported to a medical facility for emergency care, a doctor later declared him deceased.
Officers quickly apprehended Ibrahim, a resident of Gidan Gona Village, in connection with the crime. SP Shiisu stated that the suspect will be moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse for comprehensive questioning. Legal proceedings are expected to follow, with the suspect appearing in court once the police conclude their inquiry.
