The Redeemed Christian Theological College (RCTC) officially conferred degrees upon 7,771 students during its 45th convocation. The ceremony occurred at the Congress Arena within Redemption City of God as part of the 74th Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Pastor Rotimi Alaba, the college provost, stated that the event highlights the institution’s ongoing mission to deliver theological training for church advancement. Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the RCCG and Chairman of the RCTC Board of Governors, challenged the new graduates to act as “mountain movers.” He emphasized that their education, which included character development and spiritual growth, must be applied through prayer, obedience, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit to overcome life’s obstacles.
Pastor Ezekiel Odeyemi, Assistant General Overseer for Education and Training, praised the graduates for their dedication to biblical study. He encouraged them to apply their training to tackle issues like ignorance and fear by spreading the Gospel. Meanwhile, Pastor Charles Achonwa of Doulos Ministries, who delivered a sermon on the “Sword of the Spirit,” reminded the class that spiritual empowerment is essential for their ministry, urging them to prioritize soul-winning over mere academic credentials.
Provost Alaba reminded the participants that receiving their certificates serves as a commissioning for active service. He advised them to maintain integrity and humility while navigating the complexities of modern society. The 74th Annual Convention remains ongoing at the Redemption City, attracting participants from across the globe.
