US and Iran Exchange Attacks on Strategic Infrastructure

Military conflict between the US and Iran intensifies as both sides target critical infrastructure across the Gulf, leading to widespread power outages and casualties.

Tensions between the United States and Iran have surged as both nations target vital infrastructure. On Saturday, Iran launched retaliatory strikes against facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan following a week of US military actions. Iranian military leaders, including Major General Mohsen Rezaei, have warned that Tehran will escalate to full-scale offensive operations if American strikes persist.

In Kuwait, Iranian attacks hit an oil facility and a power and water plant, resulting in significant damage and injuries to personnel. Similarly, the Iranian military reported successful drone strikes on US-affiliated bases in Bahrain and Jordan. Meanwhile, Iran claims recent US bombardments in the Hormozgan and Khuzestan provinces have caused at least 11 deaths, disrupted telecommunications, and damaged water supply systems, leaving citizens facing power shortages.

While US President Donald Trump previously threatened to strike Iranian infrastructure, official confirmation of ongoing operations remains limited. Expert David Khalfa suggests both nations feel trapped in an escalation cycle where compromise is viewed as surrender. The violence originated from Iranian interference in the Strait of Hormuz, where the Revolutionary Guards claim to have blocked vessels and mined tankers, leading the US to enforce a blockade on Iranian ports.
