A series of Ukrainian drone strikes on two Wildberries warehouses in Russia has resulted in seven fatalities and 49 injuries. Russian authorities reported that the casualties occurred at facilities belonging to the nation’s largest online retailer. The incident in Tambov, located roughly 295 miles south-east of Moscow, accounted for all seven deaths and 25 of the total injuries.
Another 24 individuals sustained injuries at a separate Wildberries site in Elektrostal, within the Moscow region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that these operations targeted logistics hubs used to facilitate the supply of components for drone manufacturing and navigation systems. He framed the strikes as a direct response to Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, which killed 14 people earlier in the week.
Wildberries CEO Tatyana Kim described the event as a tragic night for the company. Regional officials confirmed that emergency crews were deployed to manage fires and aid victims at the sites. Additionally, officials reported that a fuel depot was hit by a falling drone in the Moscow region, marking a significant development during the overnight aerial engagements.
