Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has officially met with four individuals—a school principal, a National Examinations Council representative, and two students—following their successful rescue. These victims had been abducted during an assault on an examination venue located in Olowa, Dekina Local Government Area.
The group was welcomed at the Lokoja Government House, where the governor consulted with regional security leadership. These individuals were freed after a collaborative mission where law enforcement pressure compelled the captors to desert their hostages.
Governor Ododo commended the security personnel for their effectiveness, vowing to hunt down the perpetrators. He also voiced concern regarding the reported existence of an unauthorized examination center, noting it contradicts the state’s policy of providing free education. Finally, the governor credited President Bola Tinubu and security forces for the outcome, asserting that Kogi State remains unwelcoming to criminals.
