The All Progressives Congress (APC) has claimed that the failure of opposition parties to adhere to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline for 2027 election candidate submissions proves they are unprepared. While the APC successfully uploaded its list of presidential and legislative candidates on time, many opposition groups struggled with the process, leading INEC to extend the deadline from July 11 to July 14, 2026, following a request from the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).
APC spokesman Felix Morka remarked that the extension highlights the operational weaknesses of opposition parties. Morka suggested that if these groups cannot organize their internal nominations, they lack the competence required to manage national affairs. The party also labeled the opposition hypocritical, pointing out that these groups often accuse the APC of influencing INEC, yet they relied on the commission for a deadline extension when they fell behind.
Highlighting its own organizational efficiency, the APC confirmed that all its candidates for the presidency, vice presidency, and national assembly are officially registered. The party urged its members to stay focused on promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to prepare for an effective campaign to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.
