A pair of individuals linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have yielded to the Nigerian military’s Operation HADIN KAI in Borno State’s Bama Local Government Area. Security analyst Zagazola Makama announced the development via social media this Wednesday.
The report specifies that 29-year-old Fatimata Modu, originating from Yaganari Village, arrived at a base held by the 81 Division Task Force Battalion with her two-year-old child, Muhammed Modu. Both individuals chose to surrender of their own accord and are currently being processed by military officials according to standard protocols.
Initial screening has already been finalized, with additional evaluations scheduled by relevant authorities. This event follows a broader trend of insurgents and their relatives abandoning militant activity as military presence remains active across the North-East. While the regional security climate appears stable, forces remain on high alert to address any potential threats.
