Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Wisdom Olawande, asserts that the All Progressives Congress (APC) maintains a strong position for the upcoming 2027 elections. He argues that the party’s success depends on its commitment to fulfilling campaign pledges and delivering tangible results to the public. During a recent interview, Olawande highlighted the administration’s dedication to economic restructuring, infrastructure expansion, and youth-focused initiatives.
Addressing the economic challenges currently facing Nigerians, the minister emphasized that deep-rooted national issues necessitate difficult but essential reforms. He compared these transitions to the pains of childbirth, arguing that the long-term benefits of a stabilized, productive economy will eventually outweigh the temporary hardships. According to Olawande, the administration is prioritizing the establishment of sustainable systems rather than relying on quick, superficial fixes.
The minister specifically pointed to infrastructure successes, such as the Lagos–Calabar coastal highway, as evidence of progress. He also celebrated the stability in the education sector, noting that there have been no disruptions from the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) for three consecutive years. Furthermore, he highlighted government programs like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and increased investment in digital skills and entrepreneurship as evidence that the administration is actively empowering the younger generation.
Olawande concluded by encouraging young Nigerians to engage constructively in the democratic process. He urged them to acquire their voter cards, conduct thorough research on candidates, and avoid involvement in violence or misinformation. He maintained that by focusing on policy and accountability, young people can play a pivotal role in the nation’s ongoing development.
