Suspected bandits launched an assault on Dauran town, situated in the Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, resulting in the kidnapping of multiple residents and the destruction of a prominent local leader’s residence.
Security analyst Bakatsine reported the event on X this past Friday. The assailants entered the community on Thursday night and targeted the home of Malam Ahmad Ariri Galadawa, an esteemed elder, setting the structure ablaze. While numerous individuals were taken captive during the raid, the precise count of those kidnapped remains unconfirmed.
Bakatsine emphasized the ongoing cycle of violence in the region, noting that many families are currently facing the distress of searching for missing relatives as the community grapples with the aftermath of this security breach.
