The Benue State Police Command has officially denounced the murder of Ardo Rabo Mohammed, the local chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), and his associate, Yakubu Isa. Authorities labeled the incident a criminal action that threatens the state’s stability and ongoing peace initiatives.
The two men were ambushed by unidentified individuals on Friday while traveling back from a security briefing on the Okwudu-Ogoli Road in Otukpo. Following the news, DSP Udeme Edet, the Police Public Relations Officer, released a statement confirming that Commissioner of Police Cletus C.N. Nwadiogbu has initiated an extensive investigation.
Commissioner Nwadiogbu expressed his condolences to the grieving families and characterized the assault as a senseless crime. He confirmed that specialized tactical and intelligence units have been deployed to track down and prosecute the attackers. The Commissioner stated that no effort will be spared in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
