Kebbi APC suspends state and local leaders amid misconduct allegations

The Kebbi APC has suspended its state and Zuru local chairs over disciplinary issues, while the state government also suspended the Commissioner for Livestock Development and Fisheries.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has officially suspended its State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana-Zuru, alongside the Zuru Local Government Area Chairman, Hon. Aliyu Abubakar Abiola. State Party Secretary Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammad Kimba confirmed the decision, noting that grievances were lodged by stakeholders from the Zuru Emirate.

The accusations involve a lack of dedication to party duties, failing to collaborate with key members, and ignoring internal protocols. Following an inquiry, the party leadership opted for disciplinary measures. Consequently, the Deputy State Chairman will assume leadership duties on an interim basis. In a separate action on June 24, 2026, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Livestock Development and Fisheries, Alhaji Kabir Usman Alaramma, was also removed from his post. Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida announced that the commissioner must surrender all state assets and responsibilities to the ministry’s Permanent Secretary until further notice.
