Nigerian Army apprehends suspected terrorist, seizes weapons in Kano

Troops from the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army raided Konan Dumawa village in Kano State, resulting in the arrest of a suspected terrorist and the recovery of various weapons.

Soldiers from the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army captured a suspected terrorist during a tactical raid in the Dambatta Local Government Area of Kano State. Information regarding the arrest was shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who monitors counter-insurgency activities in the Lake Chad basin.

Intelligence reports led military personnel to Konan Dumawa village around 10:30 p.m. on June 21, where the operation took place. During the search, troops detained the suspect and seized a variety of items, including a Dane gun, a locally crafted pistol, a revolver, four cartridges, three knives, mobile phones, and personal effects such as an identity card and ATM cards. The individual is currently being held by the military as the investigation proceeds.

Military officials indicated that this mission is part of a broader strategy to eliminate criminal threats and prevent militant infiltration within Kano State. Command leadership confirmed that troops will continue to prioritize intelligence-driven operations to improve safety across the region.
