English golfers Lottie Woad and Charley Hull are positioned to challenge for the title as the AIG Women’s Open moves into its final round at Royal Lytham and St Annes. Woad posted a 70 on Saturday to reach three under par, while Hull carded a 71 to sit at two under.
American golfer Yealimi Noh leads the field at seven under following a 69. Hull, currently five strokes off the lead, overcame a difficult start that included three early bogeys. She managed a late recovery with birdies on the 15th and 16th holes, describing her initial performance as poor before finding her rhythm. Reflecting on her round, Hull noted that despite early struggles, she was pleased with how she managed to finish.
Windy weather on the Lancashire coast proved difficult for most, with Noh being one of the few to complete the third round under par. A competitive group of contenders, including several top-10 players, remains within five shots of the lead. These include Germany’s Esther Henseleit, American Lucy Li, Japan’s Shiho Kuwaki, Thai golfer Jeeno Thitikul, and South Korean Ryu Hae-ran, all sitting at four under.
Lydia Ko of New Zealand is also staying relevant at one under, while world number one Nelly Korda fell eight shots off the pace after a double-bogey on the final hole.
