Donald Trump recently criticized Iranian leadership for their inconsistent approach to diplomatic communications. He alleged that while Tehran has privately sought meetings, they have publicly claimed no such discussions were occurring.
Writing on his social media platform, Truth Social, the former US president accused the nation of being deceptive. He asserted that Iran reached out to request meetings, yet simultaneously denied these engagements to the public, suggesting they were limiting their interactions to mediators in Oman.
Furthermore, Trump dismissed claims from Iranian authorities regarding their authority over the Strait of Hormuz. He maintained that the United States maintains complete oversight of the area and that transit through the waterway is contingent upon American approval.
Trump emphasized that no goods would pass through the strait until a formal agreement is reached or the country concedes fully. He concluded his statement by reaffirming the firm US stance against Iran acquiring nuclear capabilities, declaring that such an outcome would never be permitted.
