Wolves forward Tolu Arokodare brought a training session to an abrupt end by refusing to leave the field. Reports indicate the 25-year-old Nigerian player staged a sit-in, insisting that the club facilitate a transfer to Fiorentina. Although Wolves declined the Italian club’s proposal, they had already agreed to terms with Trabzonspor from Turkey.
As a result of this disruption, manager Cesar Peixoto called off the Monday practice. Arokodare will not participate in the upcoming friendly match against Maidenhead United. In a statement posted online, Arokodare denied unprofessional behavior, asserting his commitment to fulfilling his contractual duties at Wolves.
This incident follows previous disciplinary issues for the forward, including an April dispute with teammate Mateus Mane. Since his 24-million-pound transfer from Genk, Arokodare has struggled to find form, netting only three times during the team’s relegation from the Premier League.
