Tinubu Pledges Enhanced Housing and Employment Access Through FCT Infrastructure Development

President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated a 10.5-kilometre road network in Abuja’s Karsana District, marking a significant step in the administration’s plan to improve infrastructure and housing accessibility under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

President Bola Tinubu has emphasized his administration’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda by prioritizing infrastructure and residential accessibility within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Speaking through Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the President inaugurated a new 10.5-kilometre road network in the Karsana District of Abuja on Friday.

The project features arterial roads N11, N16, and N40, along with Special Important Local Street 03. These routes establish a direct link between the Renewed Hope City and Estates in Karsana West and the broader Abuja transport system, including the Murtala Mohammed Motorway. According to the President, this connectivity ensures that thousands of affordable homes are now accessible and secure.

President Tinubu stated that the Renewed Hope Agenda is a practical strategy centered on identifying development gaps, securing funding, and completing projects to serve the public. He criticized the previous trend of stalled public works and pledged to ensure that Abuja’s development keeps pace with its growth. He also commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his role in overcoming previous accessibility challenges in the district.

Minister Wike noted that the area lacked basic road access when the housing project first began, but government intervention has now transformed the site. Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, echoed these sentiments, highlighting that the initiative promotes economic expansion and inclusivity. Richard Dauda, Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, confirmed that the project, which began in February 2025, serves as a vital component in improving connectivity across the city’s phases.
