Tinubu Mourns Kano Kingmaker Abbas Sanusi
In a statement released on Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, the Galadiman Kano and a senior kingmaker in the Kano Emirate.
Sanusi, who passed away at the age of 92 after a prolonged illness, is survived by many children and grandchildren. Among them is Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the Kano State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to a statement by presidential spokesperson Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
President Tinubu described the late Alhaji Abbas Sanusi as a vital pillar of the traditional institution, whose contributions to its preservation and development would be remembered far beyond the Kano Emirate and the state itself.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Kano State, the Kano Emirate Council, and the bereaved family. The President also offered prayers for Sanusi’s soul, asking that he be granted eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus.
