Terence Donovan, the British-Australian performer celebrated for his appearances on television staples like Neighbours and Home and Away, has passed away at the age of 90. His son, Jason Donovan, confirmed the news, stating that his father died peacefully in Melbourne, Australia, this past Saturday.
In a joint statement, Jason and his brother Paul described their father as a vibrant personality and their closest confidant. They expressed gratitude for being present during his final moments and noted that their father embraced life as a daring adventure. Born in London, Donovan relocated to Australia as a youth. He initially pursued music before launching an acting career in the 1960s.
Donovan achieved significant fame in the 1970s and 1980s through roles such as Detective Mick Peters in Division 4 and Detective Senior Sergeant Vic Cameron in Cop Shop. Later, he portrayed Doug Willis on Neighbours and Al Simpson in Home and Away. Beyond his extensive television work, he appeared in films including The Man from Snowy River and Breaker Morant.
