Tekno Suggests Love Has Changed Since 2020

Singer Tekno claims that the 2020 lockdowns fundamentally altered the landscape of love, leading to relationship fatigue, increased infidelity, and a decline in genuine romance.

Nigerian musician Augustine Kelechi, widely known as Tekno, recently expressed his view that the nature of love shifted significantly following the year 2020. During a discussion on Cool FM Lagos, the singer suggested that the mandatory COVID-19 lockdowns forced couples to spend unprecedented amounts of time together, leading many to realize their feelings were not as deep as they initially believed.

According to the artist, this period of confinement created a sense of exhaustion within relationships. He argued that if individuals cannot value the absence of their partners, their presence loses its significance. Tekno further claimed that marital stability has declined since that period and incidents of infidelity have increased. He also remarked that the cultural portrayal of romance, once a central theme in films, has shifted toward superficiality and chasing popularity rather than genuine emotional connections.
