Ghanaian dancehall performer Shatta Wale revealed on The Honest Bunch Podcast that his friendship with Nigerian artist Burna Boy collapsed due to malicious gossip. Shatta Wale maintains that when Burna Boy visited Ghana, he provided full hospitality, including housing and vehicles.
The singer claims that after firing certain staff members, these individuals launched a smear campaign. They reportedly contacted Burna Boy with fabricated stories suggesting Shatta Wale had been intimate with his girlfriend during the trip. Shatta Wale expressed frustration that the Afrobeats star accepted these claims as truth without verification.
Since Burna Boy’s rise to international stardom, Shatta Wale has been unable to reconnect. Despite reaching out to Burna Boy’s mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, he received only excuses. Although he remains proud of Burna Boy’s professional achievements, Shatta Wale remains disappointed that he was never given the opportunity to defend himself against those lies.
