Security Guard Murdered During Solar Equipment Theft in Kano

A security guard at a Kano hospital was killed by thieves who stole solar equipment from the facility on Friday night.

Malam Ado Shuaibu Maki, a security guard stationed at a hospital in the Danlasan Ward of Kano State’s Warawa Local Government Area, was fatally attacked by unidentified thieves. The intruders reportedly slit the victim’s throat before stealing solar power components from the medical facility. This violent event took place overnight on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Malam Hamza Kinchau, who serves as the Director of Information and Public Enlightenment for the Warawa Local Government chairman, confirmed the details of the killing on July 4, 2026. In response, the Chairman of Warawa Local Government, Hon. Lamido Sunusi Ahmad, shared his sympathies with the grieving family and the local community. He further urged law enforcement authorities to launch a thorough investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible for the crime.
