Abba Aliyu, the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), has officially addressed the recent selection of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose to lead the agency’s Governing Board as Chairman. Alongside Fayose, President Bola Tinubu has named Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta to serve as board members.
In a public statement released on Tuesday, Aliyu expressed his approval of the new team. He described the appointees as highly suitable for their respective roles. The REA chief stated that the group possesses the necessary skills to support the agency’s primary objective of expanding electricity access to rural and remote regions, particularly through the implementation of solar mini-grid initiatives.
Aliyu emphasized that the appointments reflect President Tinubu’s clear focus on improving power accessibility for all citizens. He credited the President with reinforcing his dedication to the agency’s goals by choosing experienced individuals for these leadership positions.
