Singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has issued an apology after his disqualification from a celebrity boxing rematch with actor Charles Okocha. The incident occurred Friday night when the artist abandoned the bout following the initial round.
Through his management team, Zeh Nation/Dr Zeh, Portable expressed remorse for his sudden departure and the subsequent controversy. In a public statement, the team offered apologies to the Balmoral Group, the event staff, and all attendees. While acknowledging the frustration surrounding the event’s outcome, the management requested that the public respect the singer’s viewpoint regarding the fight.
Portable initially defended his actions by claiming that Okocha engaged in illegal maneuvers, specifically biting and choking him, which transformed the boxing match into a wrestling skirmish. Despite his return to the ring after the walkout, officials disqualified him and declared Okocha the winner. The singer’s representatives accepted responsibility for the event, thanked the organizers for their efforts, and pledged to perform better in future engagements.
