Police Arrest Man for Alleged Defilement of His Daughters in Lagos
The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 39-year-old man, Best Orji, for allegedly sexually assaulting his two biological daughters.
According to the children’s mother, who reported the incident to the police on April 30, the victims were between the ages of 12 and 14 at the time of the alleged abuse.
During a press briefing yesterday at the Command headquarters in Ikeja, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the complainant accused her husband of committing the crime in the Suru-Lere area of the state.
“Upon receiving the report, police swiftly apprehended the suspect. A medical examination was conducted on the victims at a Sexu@l Assault Referral Centre (SARC).
Following the investigation, the suspect, Best Orji, was arraigned in court on May 9, 2025, to face charges of defilement, under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Command, under the leadership of CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reiterated its unwavering commitment to reducing crime and criminality in the state.
Hundeyin reassured residents and visitors that the command would continue to optimize the management and deployment of human and operational resources across the state to ensure safety and security.
