Plateau State Police Apprehend 25 Individuals and Seize Illicit Substances

Plateau State police have detained 25 suspects and confiscated illegal narcotics during a coordinated operation in Jos.

The Plateau State Police Command has taken 25 individuals into custody following a strategic raid. During the operation, officers confiscated various prohibited items, including cannabis and regulated medications.

Police spokesperson SP Alfred Alabo confirmed that the operation was carried out last Saturday. A specialized team, featuring members from the Violence Crime Response Unit, the Anglo-Jos Division, and the Anti-Cybercrime & Narcotic Unit, executed the sweep at known drug distribution hubs located at Old Airport Junction and Fwavei Junction in Jos.

Authorities stated that these areas were identified as significant centers for the trade of illegal narcotics. The suspects captured during the raid are currently being held, and the seized evidence is secured by the police. State Commissioner of Police Bassey Ewah publicly praised the participating officers for their coordinated efforts and commitment to duty.
