Phillips Consulting (pcl.), a premier management firm in Nigeria, has officially released the 2026 State Performance Index (pSPI). This analytical report serves as a tool for stakeholders, including government officials, investors, and the public, to assess development and administrative efficiency across the country’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
As the nation nears another election cycle, the pSPI offers a data-centric evaluation of state progress. The 2026 version introduces a Momentum Index, which tracks growth trajectories over time rather than relying solely on static rankings. The methodology balances 70% objective secondary data with 30% citizen sentiment, covering seven key developmental areas through 37 distinct indicators.
Each state receives a specialized report that provides a strategic roadmap for improvement. Folusho Phillips, Chairman of Phillips Consulting, noted that the index is a national asset intended to replace political conjecture with verifiable facts. COO Olawanle Moronkeji added that the report assists public and private leaders in making informed policy and investment decisions. Victor Mba, Head of the Abuja office, highlighted that the inclusion of the Momentum Index allows for a more nuanced understanding of how states evolve.
The document is now available for purchase by government bodies, academic researchers, financial institutions, and civil society groups interested in fostering accountability and long-term economic growth.
