Payaza and Lebara Nigeria Form Strategic Alliance to Improve Digital Payments and Telecom Access

Payaza Africa Limited and Lebara Nigeria are partnering to streamline digital payments and telecommunications access for Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.

Payaza Africa Limited, a prominent payment infrastructure company, has entered a partnership with Lebara Nigeria, a Tier 5 Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). This collaboration aims to enhance digital payment options and telecommunications services for users throughout Nigeria.

By integrating Payaza’s payment technology, Lebara customers will gain the ability to buy airtime, purchase data, and handle subscriptions with greater ease. These features will be accessible across Lebara’s digital platforms, including the LebaraPlay micro-drama service, via mobile applications and USSD channels by the end of this quarter.

The agreement also targets the Nigerian diaspora. Payaza’s international payment system will allow individuals living abroad to provide airtime and data to family members back home efficiently. Executives from both companies highlighted that this initiative supports a digital-first approach to increasing financial inclusion and simplifying digital commerce.

Fawaz Abaniwonda of Payaza and Teniola Stuffman of Lebara Nigeria both emphasized that this move combines telecommunications with financial technology to create a more connected economy. This partnership follows Payaza’s recent attainment of high credit ratings from GCR, Agusto, and DataPro, further establishing the firm as a reliable provider in the region.
