Osun NYSC Reports 18 Absentees and 11 Service Extensions

In Osun State, 18 NYSC members have been declared as having absconded during their service year, while 11 others received service extensions for misconduct.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed that 18 participants from the 2025 Batch B Stream 1 cohort went missing during their mandatory year of service in Osun State. Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, the state coordinator, shared this update while overseeing the understated passing-out ceremonies held on Thursday across Obokun, Ilesa East, and Ilesa West.

Alongside the report of absentees, Kubiangha noted that 11 individuals faced disciplinary extensions to their service duration due to rule violations, as mandated by NYSC regulations. Meanwhile, 1,702 members officially finished their term and received their certificates. These ceremonies took place across all 30 local government areas and the state Area Office.

During the event, which was attended by official monitors including Peter Okpanachi, Kubiangha praised the graduates for their perseverance. He encouraged the former participants to prioritize integrity and hard work as they transition into their professional lives. He further urged them to act as positive representatives of the organization, focusing on character and national development. Outstanding Corps Liaison Officers were honored with commendation certificates during the proceedings.
