She established new benchmarks throughout the competition, lifting 93kg in the Snatch and 113kg in the Clean & Jerk. These efforts culminated in a combined games record total of 206kg.
Didih outperformed her rivals decisively, as India’s Gyaneshwari Yadav secured the silver medal with a 199kg total, while Canada’s Rebeka Groulx took bronze with 178kg. This victory marks the second gold medal for Team Nigeria in weightlifting, following the earlier success of Edidiong Joseph Umoafia in the men’s 71kg division.
With this latest win, the Nigerian team has brought their total medal count to nine at the 2026 Games, consisting of five gold and four silver medals.
