Authorities in Ondo State have taken four individuals into custody following a viral video that showed the humiliating assault of a local resident. The victim, identified as Boluwaji Temidayo, was targeted by a group of youths who accused him of using a fraudulent transfer to pay a Point of Sales operator.
Footage circulating online depicts the attackers forcing Mr. Temidayo to perform a dance while carrying the POS machine on his head. DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the command spokesperson, confirmed that the victim filed a report at the Okuta Elerinla Police Station on Thursday. He stated that the assault occurred on July 21, 2026, and noted that the suspects filmed the encounter without permission before sharing it on social media.
Following a digital forensic investigation, police identified the four suspects as Gbemisola Ariyo, Babatunde Eniola, Adams Tobiloba, and Fasusi Bunmi. These individuals are currently held for their direct involvement in the physical attack and the unauthorized distribution of the footage.
