Law enforcement officers in Ogun State have taken Kehinde Makinde, a man widely recognized as Pastor Kenny, into custody for allegedly operating as a fraudulent clergyman. The arrest occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State, on August 3, following an intensive four-month intelligence operation.
State Police Commissioner Bode Ojajuni, through spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the development. Authorities claim Makinde deceived numerous victims across Ogun, Osun, and Oyo states by promising spiritual deliverance.
Police reports indicate that the suspect reportedly defrauded 18 individuals at a fellowship in Saje, Adatan, of approximately N2.5 million. He allegedly enticed these victims with promises of a state-funded pilgrimage to Jerusalem, claiming each person would receive a return of N2 million. Currently, Makinde is being held by the police as they continue to search for further victims and potential accomplices.
