Law enforcement in Ogun State has apprehended a driver who previously went missing alongside four other suspects linked to an organized vehicle-theft ring. The group allegedly specialized in stealing trucks and immediately dismantling them to sell the components.
Those taken into custody include Temitope Omotayo Odulaja (47), Segun Suleiman (27), Haruna Olaogun (49), Jimoh Wasiu (42), and Quazzim Suleiman (49). The case began when a trailer owner notified the Ifo Divisional Police Headquarters that his driver had vanished with his vehicle on June 6, 2026.
After tracking the situation using technical intelligence, officers located the primary suspect, Odulaja, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, on July 24. His cooperation led authorities to Ijebu-Ode the following day, where the remaining suspects were captured. Police successfully recovered significant portions of the stolen vehicle, including the trailer head, while gathering evidence of the dismantled wreckage.
Ogun State Police Commissioner, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the investigation as a significant victory against vehicle-related crime. He noted that the Command remains dedicated to breaking up criminal networks and urged logistics companies and fleet owners to stay alert. Investigations are currently active, and the suspects will face formal charges upon the conclusion of the case.
