The Nigerian Independent System Operator has pushed back the finish date for maintenance on the 330kV transmission line connecting Bauchi and Gombe. The project is now slated for completion on July 30, 2026.
Blessing Tunoh, a Communications Officer, confirmed in a Wednesday update that the service disruption will span from July 2 until July 30. This adjustment provides contractors extra time to finish installing Optical Ground Wire along the designated 330kV corridor.
Officials stated the extension compensates for time lost during the initial phase, ensuring the installation meets all necessary safety and performance benchmarks. This initiative is a component of a larger strategy to fortify Nigeria’s energy grid and increase reliability for the area. Impacted customers served by the Yola Electricity Distribution Company have been alerted to the schedule shift and asked to bear with the temporary loss of service while these improvements are finalized.
