Filling stations across Nigeria, specifically those supported by the Dangote Refinery, have lowered their retail petrol prices. A survey conducted on Saturday revealed that MRS locations in Abuja, including those in Kubwa and along the Lugbe Expressway, decreased their pump price from N1,305 to N1,265 per litre.
This represents a reduction of N40 per litre at MRS outlets. Meanwhile, AA Rano filling stations in Abuja lowered their price by N30, setting the rate at N1,300 per litre. These adjustments follow a recent period of rising fuel costs caused by instability in crude oil prices.
The price changes coincide with the Dangote Refinery’s recent initiative to distribute petrol in five states and the Federal Capital Territory at a gantry price of N1,215 per litre. During the same period, Brent crude traded at $84 and West Texas Intermediate at $87 per barrel. Currently, major depots such as Pinnacle, Emedab, NIPCO, and Sigmund are supplying petrol to the market at prices ranging from N1,217 to N1,222 per litre.
