A 30-year-old resident of Agyaragu, Musbawu Amodu, is in custody after allegedly causing his 20-year-old wife’s death. The Nasarawa State Police Command apprehended him following reports that he physically attacked the woman because she would not cook for him.
SP Ramhan Nansel, the police spokesperson, confirmed that the suspect acknowledged attacking his wife in a fit of rage after she refused his request to prepare food. The resulting dispute turned violent, leading to fatal injuries for the mother of two.
CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed, the state Commissioner of Police, ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia to take over the matter. The authorities have promised a swift investigation and intend to prosecute the suspect once the inquiry is finished.
