Miss Jamaica Hospitalized After Dramatic Stage Fall During Miss Universe Preliminary
Miss Jamaica, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday after she suffered a frightening fall off the stage during the Miss Universe preliminary evening gown competition in Thailand.
A viral video circulating on social media captured the moment Henry stumbled and fell off the edge of the runway while gracefully walking in a long orange gown.
Subsequent footage showed the Jamaican representative, an ophthalmologist by profession, being transported away from the venue on a stretcher.
The Miss Universe Organisation confirmed the incident, stating that Henry was taken to Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Thailand for treatment.
Miss Universe President, Raúl Rocha Cantú, visited the hospital and provided an encouraging update, stating that Henry sustained minor wounds and, thankfully, has no broken bones. She is currently under observation and will remain in the Bangkok hospital overnight to ensure her full recovery.
