Manchester United Conduct Initial Talks Over Victor Osimhen Transfer

Manchester United have reportedly taken steps forward in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen, having recently held preliminary talks with the striker’s representatives.

According to reports, “a meeting took place in the last few hours between the Nigerian striker’s entourage and Manchester United,” marking the beginning of formal negotiations between the two parties.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan during the last transfer window, has delivered an impressive performance with 33 goals and 8 assists in 37 matches across all competitions.

The same outlet notes that the 26-year-old forward is currently attracting strong interest from two main destinations ahead of the summer: Saudi Arabia and the Premier League.

Al Hilal had tabled a €50 million bid for Osimhen last summer, but the player opted for a move to Turkey instead. Despite this, Saudi clubs continue to monitor his availability.

One such interested party is Neom, a team backed by a major Saudi Arabian development project, which is now keeping a close eye on the situation.

However, reports suggest Osimhen favors a move to the Premier League, where clubs are more likely to meet his salary demands of €12 million per year—a figure that significantly narrows his list of viable options to English sides.

“To be honest, England has the only league capable of covering the incredible salary demanded by the player, namely €12m per year,” Foot Mercato stated, highlighting the financial appeal of a Premier League move.

Manchester United are reportedly at the forefront of the race to sign Victor Osimhen in England. According to the report, the club’s leadership, frustrated with their current attacking options, has compiled a four-man shortlist for the striker position.

Osimhen is a key name on that list, along with Victor Gyökeres and Liam Delap. Among them, Gyökeres is seen as the priority target, especially if United qualify for the Champions League through the Europa League.

The report further states that Napoli will seek a fee exceeding €75 million, including bonuses, to part ways with Osimhen.
