Lagos Police Disrupt Criminal Network Trafficking Military Uniforms and Illicit Drugs

Lagos police intercepted a truck carrying military camouflage and illicit drugs, arresting four suspects while separately detaining 34 foreign nationals during a city raid.

Security concerns have intensified after Lagos authorities intercepted a truck carrying 47 bags of military camouflage uniforms and caps. The seizure took place in Epe on June 20, 2026, leading to the detention of four suspected syndicate members.

Lagos State Police Commissioner Fatai Tijani identified the arrested individuals as 29-year-old Chinedu David, 38-year-old Ezeagwu Chukwuma, and 45-year-old Ifeanyi Ogbeanyi. During the operation, officers recovered an unregistered MAN diesel truck filled with the military gear alongside 80 cartons of suspected illicit substances. Authorities believe the shipment was destined for the eastern part of the country.

In a separate operation, police raided a building on Lagos Island and took 34 foreign nationals into custody. These individuals were unable to provide a valid reason for their presence in the state. Investigations are currently underway to trace the origins of the seized military equipment and identify the broader network behind these illegal activities.
