Lagos High Court Postpones N460.75 Million Fraud Trial for Austin Albert to October 5

A Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned the fraud trial of Austin Albert to October 5, 2026, due to the defendant’s ongoing medical recovery in Dubai.

A Federal High Court in Lagos has delayed the trial of Austin Albert, who stands accused of a N460.75 million fraud. Albert, the head of Loft & Keys Ltd and Loft & Keys LLC based in Dubai, is scheduled to appear in court on October 5, 2026.

The postponement followed a request from the defense team, which notified the judge that Albert is currently in Dubai recuperating from major surgery. Documentation verifying his medical condition was provided to the court.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is leading the prosecution against Albert and several co-defendants. The charges include forgery, money laundering, and obtaining funds under false pretenses. Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke approved the delay to ensure the defendant is present for his formal arraignment.
