Residents of Kogi State have pledged to support the re-election of President Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo during the next election cycle. This decision follows a series of state and federal infrastructure projects that have enhanced the daily lives of citizens, including improvements to roads, hospitals, and educational facilities.
Dr. Joseph Oluwasegun, the Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, expressed this commitment during a tour of projects in Yagba West with the Presidential Media team. He highlighted that Governor Ododo has visited the Egbe community twice, an unprecedented move in the area’s history, and oversaw the construction of 15 kilometers of internal roads. The Commissioner noted that President Tinubu has provided the necessary funding for these developments and established the North Central Development Commission to foster regional growth.
Local officials, including Yagba West LGA Chairman Ologun Tosin and Road Maintenance Agency DG Eng. Bolaji Taye, praised the quality and speed of these road projects. Chief Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to national infrastructure transformation, noting that new contracts for additional roads across Kogi and other states have recently been issued.
Senior Special Adviser Mr. Fredrick Nwabufo emphasized the administration’s focus on rehabilitating vital federal highways, such as the Kabba-Egbe-Omuaran road. Kogi Information Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo also commended the federal government for intervening in road projects that were previously in a state of collapse.
