Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated on Friday that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi is a serial liar intent on undermining emerging leaders from the South-East. This statement follows a defamation lawsuit initiated by Obi against him.
During an appearance on Sunrise Daily, Okonkwo questioned Obi’s understanding of legal principles, suggesting his legal team needs to better advise him. Okonkwo maintains that he never defamed Obi, noting that his public statements remain available for review. He described Obi as a politician lacking depth and criticized the logic of the defamation claim, arguing that the suit was improperly framed regarding his future intentions.
Okonkwo asserted that Obi’s actions are part of a broader attempt to suppress potential rivals. He also expressed support for Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, who recently characterized Obi as someone who lies as naturally as fish drink water. Okonkwo argued that Obi’s failure to sue other critics confirms his inconsistent approach and reinforces the need for better legal counsel for the politician.
