Although Wilson, the defending champion from 2025, attempted to rally with a century break of 103, Trump remained clinical. He closed out the match by winning key frames on the black and pink balls, eventually finishing with an 11-6 scoreline. The win earns Trump a top prize of £210,000, while runner-up Wilson receives £105,000.
The Shanghai Masters, a prestigious non-ranking event on the World Snooker Tour, hosted 24 competitors. Trump’s path to the final included victories over notable players like Barry Hawkins, John Higgins, and Wu Yize. This performance serves as a significant recovery for Trump following his early exit from the World Championship earlier this year.
Looking ahead, the professional circuit shifts to the China Open in Taiyuan, which begins on 8 August and marks the tournament’s first appearance since 2019. Trump is scheduled to face Noppon Saengkham in his opening round, while Wilson will compete against Aaron Hill.
