England international Jordan Henderson has secured a move to Chelsea on a two-year agreement following the mutual termination of his contract at Brentford. The 36-year-old brings significant experience to Stamford Bridge, having previously secured Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup titles during his tenure at Liverpool.
Henderson’s career has taken him from his youth roots at Sunderland through stints at Al-Ettifaq and Ajax before his return to English football with Brentford last year. Reflecting on his move to Chelsea, Henderson cited his deep respect for manager Xabi Alonso and the caliber of the current squad as primary reasons for joining. He emphasized his commitment to supporting his teammates both on and off the pitch.
His career includes 91 caps for England, highlighted by appearances in seven major tournaments. This past summer, he reached a milestone as the first Englishman to appear in four separate World Cups, though his tournament was cut short by a broken arm sustained while jumping over advertising hoardings.
Chelsea, who finished 10th last season, are undergoing a major squad overhaul under Alonso.
