The stage was ultimately secured by Remco Evenepoel of Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, who displayed surprising strength on the final climb to fend off Tadej Pogacar and Isaac del Toro. Pogacar maintains his overall lead in the yellow jersey, holding a five-minute cushion over Evenepoel. Vingegaard’s team confirmed that the Danish rider requires surgery for his injuries, marking a bitter conclusion to his campaign.
