Joint security forces prevent abduction attempt at Kebbi District Head’s home

Security forces in Kebbi State successfully repelled an attack on the residence of the District Head of Badariya, ensuring the safety of the ruler and his family.

A combined security task force successfully prevented a kidnapping attempt at the home of Urotu Shehu, the District Head of Badariya, located in the Birnin Kebbi region of Kebbi State. The operation ensured the safety of the traditional leader and his relatives.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the intrusion occurred during the early hours of July 15 within the Hubbare district. Authorities were alerted at approximately 1:13 a.m. by Alhaji Uwaisu Saad, prompting a swift response from the Divisional Police Officer.

The responding team included police officers, the 36 Police Mobile Force, members of the operations department, the Civilian Joint Task Force, and local vigilante groups. Upon the arrival of these forces, the armed suspects retreated into the surrounding brush, leaving the premises empty.

Although the district head and his family remained unharmed, three workers at the residence suffered injuries and were transported to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital for medical care. Security presence has been bolstered in the area to maintain order and track the suspects who managed to escape.
