In a state media interview, Pezeshkian noted that although China is expanding its military power, it avoids the confrontational path taken by the U.S. He posed a rhetorical question about the rivalry between the two superpowers, emphasizing that China successfully grows stronger by concentrating on its internal objectives rather than engaging in warfare.
Regarding Iran’s foreign policy, Pezeshkian described his country’s position as a fight for survival. He noted that Iran acts strategically, balancing when to fight, seek peace, or remain neutral depending on how adversaries behave. He defended Iran’s previous actions against vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, citing regulatory violations as the cause for those military engagements. Furthermore, the President dismissed claims that Tehran violated a Pakistan-mediated agreement, challenging critics to identify any specific clause that was broken.
Pezeshkian accused nations such as Israel of actively seeking conflict and asserted that Iran will not accept submission. He reaffirmed his commitment to his leadership role, declaring that he has no intention of stepping down and remains prepared to face any aggression.
