Insurance Company Names New Chief Executive Officer
Prudential Zenith Life Insurance Limited has announced the appointment of Funmilayo Abimbola Omo as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, Tokunboh Ishmael has been named Chair of the company’s Board of Directors.
These leadership changes come after Prudential Plc completed the acquisition of the remaining 49% stake in Prudential Zenith Life, securing full ownership of the company.
Omo brings extensive experience in insurance and financial services, while Ishmael offers over 20 years of expertise in investment banking, private equity, and business development.
Emmanuel Aryee, Prudential’s CEO for Africa, stated that these appointments reinforce the group’s dedication to expanding its footprint in Nigeria and across Africa.
With full ownership and new leadership, Prudential Zenith Life plans to leverage global expertise and its bancassurance partnership with Zenith Bank to enhance access to its insurance products.
Prudential Zenith Life became a wholly owned subsidiary of Prudential Plc on September 26, 2024. By December 2022, the company had recorded a gross written premium of N6.3 billion.
Earlier reports confirmed Prudential Plc’s intention to acquire the remaining shares of Prudential Zenith Life, thereby gaining full control of the Nigerian insurer.
