Imo APC Leadership Vows Aggressive Campaign for Tinubu in 2027

Imo State APC Chairman Austin Onyedebelu has mobilized party officials in the Owerri Zone, vowing an intense campaign effort to ensure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

Austin Onyedebelu, the Imo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared that party leadership will campaign with intense determination to secure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection in 2027. This statement was delivered during a meeting with party officials from the Owerri Zone, including representatives from 9 local government areas and 105 wards.

Addressing local and ward executives, Onyedebelu emphasized that party unity is essential for electoral victory. He explicitly warned local officials that they will be held strictly accountable for the party’s performance in their jurisdictions, urging them to proactively identify and report any potential obstacles or sabotage before the election rather than offering excuses afterward.

The chairman stressed the importance of grassroots mobilization, noting that genuine engagement with voters is the only reliable path to success. He cautioned against anti-party behavior, reminding members that supporting the opposition is counterproductive because such groups will ultimately favor their own members when distributing political benefits. Furthermore, Onyedebelu highlighted that the 2027 cycle is a critical opportunity for the Owerri Zone to advance its aspirations for the Imo State governorship.

Onyekachi Ibezim, the State Secretary, noted that the meeting served to align grassroots leadership with the party’s strategic goals. Justus Ogu, the State Vice Chairman for Owerri Zone, expressed confidence that his region would fully support all APC candidates, from the presidency down to the state legislature.
