The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has delivered a preliminary report to President Bola Tinubu regarding the inquiry into the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC). The commission now asserts that the council is entirely fabricated.
Musa Aliyu, the head of the ICPC, announced this development on Thursday after consulting with the President at the State House in Abuja. Consequently, Aliyu has formally suggested that Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claimed to be the director-general of the entity, face criminal charges.
This update follows President Tinubu’s directive from one month ago, which mandated a comprehensive probe into the suspicious council. According to Aliyu, investigators determined that Adeyemi never received an official appointment from the federal authorities. Furthermore, the documents supporting the organization’s existence, including its supposed gazette and appointment letters, were found to be fraudulent.
