A 22-year-old groom, Nolan Dain Engel, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after allegedly shooting his friend during his own bachelor party in Oklahoma.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on April 4, 2026, at an Airbnb where Engel and three companions were celebrating.
Reports indicate that Engel told investigators the group heard a knock and spotted a shadow outside the cabin.
He allegedly fired a 9mm handgun toward the figure, only to discover upon investigation that he had shot his 21-year-old friend, Braden Uhlmann. While first responders transported Uhlmann to a nearby hospital, he later died from his injuries.
Law enforcement officials stated that evidence collected at the scene aligns with Engel’s account of the events.
Despite the claim that the shooting was a reaction to a perceived intruder, authorities proceeded with a second-degree murder charge as the investigation continues.
